One Flower Wednesdays

How fast does a week go by? It's Wednesday again already!

This little yellow flower is made from 3/4" hexies and is for another pin cushion.

I auditioned some layouts on graph paper and came up with this design. The good thing is that if I go with this layout then I have just the right number of flowers made.

Please ignore the colour layout as I just plonked them down and will have to move them around a bit to even the colour out. I was wondering how a white filler hexie would look but I've always had a green pathway in mind and I do think I prefer the second pic with the green fillers.

Your opinions are most welcome. Not sure yet how to finish the outside off but all in good time.
This top measures 36" across the widest point and 32" from flat side to flat side. Just right for a small round table.
Happy Gardening

I like the green but if you have a pale gray purple (do you know what I mean) then I think you should try that as well.

You flowers look great. I do like it with the green as the pathway. i'm thinking mine might be a table topper yet as i doubt i'll ever get a bed quilt done.

I like this layout with the fillers, whether you use white or green. It's the one I want to use, but I showed my daughters (since one of them will eventually receive my quilt), and they both prefer a complete pathway around all hexagons. Wish I'd never asked. THIS is my favorite layout.

You have such a nice variety of colors among your hexagons.

I think the green seems to bring them together better. Pin cushion is nice, and I just love the halloween piccies!

Lovely hexie! I like both backgrounds, but I think Tineke is right, the white one is standing out more.
Happy stitching, Ciscsa

Das Grüne gefällt mir auch besser.
Das ist eine gute Idee, die Blumen auf diese Art und Weise zusammen zu nähen, das habe ich bisher noch nirgends gesehen. Werde ich mir merken!

Viele Grüße!

Love the layout of your flowers Narelle, but I have to say I prefer the white fillers. It seems to showcase your flowers better. I find a few of your flower are getting lost on the green... If white is too white for you, and green is your aim, maybe a very light green would work better... Just my thoughts... 8-)
